Character Development (ages 13-19)
In this course, student will learn how to create a well-rounded character for the stage. We will explore characters form a selection of shows, study character traits and learn how to express and apply them. Students will study characters from plays, musicals, and literature, and some reading outside of class will be expected. In class students will share character thoughts and ideas, and will read scenes together while applying character traits they have identified. Students should have some experience with acting when taking this course.
Sam is currently a student at the University of Pittsburgh studying Theater Arts and Communications. She is passionate about performing arts and values the benefits they bring into our lives. A Footlights alum, Sam joined the staff this year and is so excited to continue teaching with Footlights this fall.
